Ethics of Magick
a synopsis for beginners
Now, to tell the truth, when people say you should not use
Magick for
selfish gains what they mean is that Magick takes the path of least
resistance. Most people are not able to step far enough out of there own
perceptions to fathom the seemingly long string of causal events that
result in the desired affect. So, people think that the working came back
and bit them in the ass. The truth, however, is that the working did
exactly what you wanted but you suffered as a result of your own lack of
foresight and preparation. Human beings are the only animals on this
planet capable of tipping the hands of fate. It is a birthright, the idea
of Magick as evil or forbidden is a doctrine of fear based on lies. If
you do something to harm another through Magick, or any other means,
you had best be certain of what you are doing or you will have to suffer
the consequences of an ill thought out action.
Is Magick the easy way out?
Not if you consider the amount of time and effort one must devote to it
to become proficient. Is living in a house the easy way out? How about
buying food at a grocery store instead of growing it yourself?
It is just a matter of understanding what Magick is; it is not
something external that is granted by infernal powers. It is simply a skill,
one of many that the human mind is capable of. With practice it becomes
stronger and with inactivity it becomes a rumor, a legend.
